Our History

Advanced Marking Systems was founded in 1979 in Youngstown, Ohio, a year marked by significant challenges for the entire region. The closure of major steel mills in the Mahoning Valley presented economic uncertainty for the entire region, but amidst the adversity, Advanced found opportunity. Initially focused on supplying marking devices to the steel industry, the company adapted and diversified in response to the changing industrial landscape. 

Recognizing the need for versatile marking solutions beyond the steel sector, AMS shifted its focus towards printing, rubber stamps, banners & signs, business cards & forms, and other printed technologies. This strategic pivot not only ensured the company’s survival but also paved the way for its growth and success 46 years later. 

Over those years, AMS has continued to innovate and expand its product offerings, becoming a trusted partner for businesses and individuals across various industries and areas. Today, the company provides a wide range of solutions and so much more from its humble beginnings.
